Noroclear Hygiene Pack Review *

I was contacted via the Tots100 PR requests to review a product by www.combatnorovirus.com,

A hygiene travel pack containing Hand Wipes, Surface Wipes and a handy size Hand Foam.

What is Noroclear?

http://www.combatnorovirus.com/wp-content/plugins/thethe-image-slider/timthumb.php?w=950&h=394&zc=1&src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.combatnorovirus.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F05%2FNoroclear-Kills-Superbugs-Superfast.jpg
Noroclear is a disinfectant that has been proven to combat the norovirus and kill a wide range of superbugs in just one minute! Developed for professional medical settings, it is the only product for sale in the UK which is proven by European test standards to kill so many germs including MRSA, C.difficile, E coli, Salmonella, Listeria and even bird flu ( H1N1 ).
It also kills the human flu, swine flu and human corona viruses, TB causing bacteria and Norovirus.

Non-alcohol based and 100% bleach free, Noroclear is kind to your skin and the environment. The hand wipes and rub contain Aloe Vera to help condition the skin gentle making it suitable for all the family.

How does Noroclear work?

Noroclear eradicates a whole range of germs from bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeasts and spores using a medical grade technology.  An active ingredient attacks the superbugs and viruses by rupturing their cell membranes. A second combination of ingredients enter the cell and destroys its inner workings, killing the germs almost instantly.
Within one minute of wiping or spraying a surface, or your hands, the germs are dead.

Is it safe for children  and sensitive skins to use?

Noroclear hand products have all been passed though stringent dermatological tests ensuring they are safe to use on the most sensitive skins types. All are non-alcohol based and free from harmful chemicals such as blench.  They are also formulated with natural Aloe Vera extract for gentle skin conditioning which means they can be used again and again.

Why use Noroclear?

  • Washing your hands is not enough to protect against superbugs such as MRSA, H1N1, SARS or Norovirus and alcohol based disinfectants are not effective against many germs.
  • We need a powerful, quick-acting and effective solution for us and our surroundings whilst we are on the move.
  • Noroclear comes in handy sized products and provides an effective and fast solution to cover the situations we face every day.
  • The handy-sized packs can be kept in your bag, hospital bedside cabinet or in your hand luggage if travelling.  Use them as part of your everyday routine to reduce the risk of falling ill.
  • We are at most risk of acquiring infections in crowded public places such as hospitals, hotels, the workplace and on public transport.
  • Germs are all around us – but some situations are riskier than others.
What did I think?

I was given the Hygiene Travel Pack to trial out.

I loved the handy size of this pack. I popped it into my hospital bag/labour bag ready for when I went into labour. The rub came was great for a quick use in the delivery suite after I had given birth. My labour was very quick so had very little use of it before hand.

Since than I have used it in the home to sanitise my hands, which is very useful for me as I have contact dermatitis which stops me from using a lot of soaps and have to be careful using anti-bacterial products too much as well. However, as they contain no alcohol, I found the wipes and foam very comfortable to use several times in the day without my hands feeling dry or irritated.

I keep the pack now in my changing bag and have used the surface wipes when out and about to sanitise my changing mat or other surfaces I am going to use for my newborn.  I find the smell of the products rather pleasant but you can smell they are from a clinical/professional environment as they don't have the perfumed fragrance added in like other off the high street products i.e smell like cucumber or lemon etc. They just smell clean and like they are actually doing something, which we know they are.

I like using the rub for my 5 year old as it quick and easy for her to use too, and the wipes are a lovely size and contain a nice about of product to even clean my partner hands efficiently.

I am definitely going to buy some more of these products for around the home as well as the travel pack when it runs out.

How I so wanted to succeed this time round.

Well I am back, and my god did those two weeks go fast. My little Lily-Rose a whole two weeks old today and my partner now back at work after his paternity leave.

I just hope January doesn't arrive too fast, as lets when I go back to full time work.

I thought I'd start my first post back about breastfeeding. A topic that is one of the centres of a mothers first conquest when our babies are born. A quest that Midwives are so keen for us to do.

I tried to breastfeed my first little girl, but only succeed for two weeks and that was mainly though expressing with an electric pump. If I remember it was due to her not latching on very well.

So you can imagine, this time round I so wanted to succeed. Why? Not because I felt we as mother's are pressured into breastfeeding, and I am not stating that we are pressured into breastfeeding as I know friends of mine who haven't breastfeed from day one. I wanted to breastfeed because I wanted to. My own beliefs in motherhood wanted me to breastfeed as long as I can and this time I was dead certain I would go on longer.

That seems to be not the case.

In the hospital Lily feed well and even at home on the first day, feed well. Than engorgement settle in on day 2 which stopped Lily from latching on. So the pump came out. It took a good 3 days for the engorgement to go by than I seemed to got myself in a routine with expressing and feeding via this means. However, I was not happy, I felt like I had failed myself and when my milk dropped from 100ml down to just 60ml on Sunday I knew this wasn't going to last.

Monday we had to get Lily re-weighed as at her initial weighing on Friday she hadn't put on enough weight since her birth. I told her that my milk had dropped and that I was still expressing.  A little help from the midwife who spent a good 45 mins with us getting Lily back on the breast, went perfectly. Lily hadn't forgotten how to get on and even though she had a feed not long before the appointment, happily took some more from my breast.

Oh I was so relieved. Than I tried again at home on the night feed, which didn't go well at all. Hands and arms getting all in the way, Lily was just not playing ball with me. Both of us was just getting a right state, so bottle it was.

I didn't let that get to me though. I tried again this morning when she woke up for her feed, in plenty of time before I had to get up ready for school run. Which was great as I took my time with her. Yet it just didn't go like it had with the midwife. I managed to stop her hands and arms getting all in the way and she did sort of latch on but I just couldn't quiet get it and now my nipples are back to square one and very sore again. We did an hour on the breast, trying to latch on, having a feed on both but still lily was hungry. I guess she didn't get enough of my milk, as she drank the whole 90ml of formula I did for her after.

I had to express once since this morning due to my nipples still being a bit sore and my milk is definitely not producing a lot. I feel like I failed myself and now trapped in feeling like that is it, formula it is than.

Should I feel so bad about it? My partner has been great and tells me I have done so well, but I feel I just let myself down.

Baby Lily-Rose has arrived

As you may of guessed due to the quietness of my posts, Lily-Rose made her appearance last week, the day after my last blog post about the end is near, and the end was definitely near.

Tuesday 9th July at around 2.30am I got woken up by a huge kick in the belly and straight away my contractions started with them going at around 1 every 5 mins. By around 3.30 I was at the hospital. Now my first child was a very quick first delivery too and so I expected this one to be quick as well. It was long when I felt the urge to push and by 4.45am Lily-Rose arrived.

It was very strange this time round, just because my first one I was physically sick in the established labour stages and although I had no pain relief I think the sickness knocked it out of me as I remember very little.

However, this time round was even though painful ( but bareable ), I was alert all the way though. Again no pain relief as I am pro-natural birthing. I guess I enjoyed it more due to the fact I was aware of what I was doing instead of being sick, and sickness made me so tired last time.

It was also great that Lily-Rose decided to come out the right way, her elder sister was back to back and had to be smacked to breathe, so again Lily-Rose was alittle more enjoyable as got to hold her straight away.

So it has already been aweek, and my it has gone fast. I can't believe my partner has got to go back to work next Tuesday ( this is the longest time we have spent together for ages due to my type of work, although it has been tough adjusting to spending so much time together and with a new baby, it has been so nice ).

Due to this, I decided to suspend some of reviews I have lined up till he goes back next week and I sure you will all understand I wanted to spend some much needed quality time, especially as I am Bi-Polar with my family instead of work.

It has also given me time to actually test out some of the products I have told you about;
The okiedog changing bags and accessories
Noroclear cleansing travel pack
Bug in a Rug

The end is near

Well I really didn't think I get this far in this pregnancy. My first was born on 38weeks, I am now 38weeks+ 4 and on Saturday, I thought my labour was starting as what was probably just braxton hicks were so strong this time. It woke me up with a very achy back and strong period like pains in the front.
I actually spend a good 45mins in the shower to ease the discomfort. However by the time I had to take Izzy to her swim class at 0930hrs everything seem to have eased off.

So here we are on Monday, after what was such a hot weekend, not that I am going to complain as I love the sun and heat but sleeping in this heat even with the fan is hard at moment. I am feeling so heavy and uncomfortable now. Sleep almost hurts with the pressure from the bump and no matter how I lay, it just awkward.

Oh and we are off the floor now! Our new bed finally arrived :-) it is massive and it so more blissful getting out from it than trying to get up of the floor. I just can't wait to feel the comfort of the bed properly once Lily-Rose arrives.

Trying to keep cool in this weather is hard too. I constantly have the fan on in the flat. We are 2nd floor too, so I guess some of the heat is travelling up from the other floors. And I am trying not to eat too much Ice-cream lol. Poor cats have been feeling it too, especially our Tabitha who is a long haired cat, bless.

Well I am sure it won't  be long now and I have some fab products awaiting to be reviewed for you all. So bare with me.

A reminder of what is to be reviewed once Lily arrives:

okiedog changing bags and accessories
Bug in a Rug - snuggle blanket
Noroclear wipes and spray
Zoggara Leggings ( Hot Pants )

I Partied with Build-A-Bear

http://www.buildabear.co.uk/babw/uk/assets/_graphics/party/party-2012-design-UK.jpg For my daugther's 5th birthday, I wanted to do something special as we are finally due our 2nd child anytime after her birthday ( Izzy's birthday is the 1st July and baby is due 19th ).

This is her first proper birthday party too and with me being heavily pregnant, I didn't really fancy having too many kids to look after. I also found that hiring a hall, with an entertainer, party food and bags actually cost a lot more and with a new baby on the way I wanted to keep costs low.

So as Izzy had already been to Build-A-Bear before with relatives and has 2 bears, I thought she would love to have a party there.

You can book the party via online or in-store, as I work just across from the store, I did my booking in person. I thought this actually better than booking online as the build-a-bear colleague gave me tips on spendage, especially as I really wanted the girls to have an accessory to go with their bears and booked a mascot. The staff member even booked us in before the store opened, which I wouldn't be able to via online as normally the parties are in opening hours.
http://www.buildabear.co.uk/BABW/UK/Assets/_graphics/party/inviteconfetti.gifInvites were available to download from the party section of the website, which was a brilliant idea, as well as Thank You notes. There are a few designs to choose from too.

I did keep to the minimum guests though of 6 ( 7 including the party girl ), but slightly over allocated myself with guests to make sure we had the min, but kept the costs to my ideal price range.

So we had 7 very excited little girls on the day of the party and the store and it's staff members made the birthday party so special for everyone.

The party began with finding out who had been to build-a-bear before and was actually surprised Izzy was the only one. They should the girls which bears they could choose from which went very smoothly.
A waking ceremony was than performed with the all the girls having to wake up their bears by wiggling each part of the teddy. The bears were than named and went though the stuffing process each. Once stuffed each one had to choose a heart to put inside the bears and kiss the heart. Bears were than stitched up.
The staff member than choose some outfits that were in the price range left from the bears and got each guest to chose one for their bear.
A special guest than made an appearance ( which I had booked as an extra @ £20 ),  a big rabbit called Pawlette Coufur®

Oh the girls loved seeing Pawlette, it added that little extra something to the party. Once the bears where each registered with their names and birth certificate, Pawlette than got the girls to do the hockey cokey, which is her favourite game.
A special bear than was given to Izzy for all her guests to sign as a remembrance of her party. A photo with all the guests and Pawlette was also taken and given to Izzy.

Each Guest also received a colouring book with their bears and a £3 voucher.
Party lasted for about an hour and the girls were so behaved and entertained. I would definitely recommend any little girl to have a party at Build-A-Bear. The staff members made it such a wonderful experience for everyone.
